It is a real privilege to be able to celebrate the efforts of the children, parents, staff and governors who contribute so generously to the different fund-raising events we hold in our school.
We’ve been extremely busy fund-raising for different charities as well as our own children in school.
If anyone would like to donate funds for the school or any of the charities listed they are kindly asked to bring this to the school office in the first instance.
Fundraising For 2013
We will be fund-raising for the school and various charities throughout 2013 and will regularly update this page to keep you informed and to keep track of progress. We will be using these new red thermometers to track activity as is happens along with the yearly total.
Fundraising Total 2012
I would like to say that I think this is a truly wonderful effort and is a true reflection of the generosity and kindness of the whole of the Stoborough school family. I know we are all making a difference to those children and adults who currently find themselves in need. A sincere thank you to you all.
Children from each class made special Christmas cards and decorations which were bought by parents for home. This year, children from Key Stage 2 were also given the opportunity to organise and run their own stalls. We had several groups of children who worked together brilliantly, organising their produce and prices and managed, with the additional PTA fund-raising from the tombola and refreshments sold, a staggering £300.00 The donations from the class gifts drew in another £220.00 A massive thank you to everyone who contributed to this. The money raised will go back in to school to give further enrichment opportunities to all the children.
The children preformed in two wonderful Nativities. At the end of the performances, donations were collected for the children’s chosen charity Wawa. £261.00 was sent to help children in Peru attend school.
Children In Need
In November, staff and members of Spetisbury Construction bravely faced all Stoborough children, parents and other family members as we covered ourselves in spots especially for BBC Children in Need. During the afternoon a Pudsey raffle took place, which created lots of excitement! A very generous £204.02 was raised.
Royal British Legion
As part of remembering all of our soldiers (past and present) we sold poppies and donated £22.52 to the Royal British Legion. The children wrote some very moving stories of being a wartime child, some of which were read out in celebration assembly.
Shoe Box Appeal
During November we started to collect show boxes for the Shoe Box Appeal. I know the children (and parents!) take a great deal of care in finding just the right gifts to go inside these to make each box a special present. I am delighted to say that 105 boxes were carefully wrapped and sent to needy children across Europe. I know that all the children who receive a box will be so thrilled on Christmas morning.
We celebrated Harvest festival and children and parents brought in to school some wonderful produce. This was then sold to our families and the donations came to a wonderful £156.51 This was given to the Wessex Heart Foundation in memory of Emma Whitmarsh.
Macmillan Coffee Morning
In September we organised a MacMillan coffee morning for those parents staying for our weekly celebration assembly. This raised a wonderful £234.27
