Curriculum

We believe children learn best in a stimulating environment where they are involved in a curriculum which is challenging, exciting and gives opportunities to develop a wide range of skills in a variety of interesting contexts.

Children are given the opportunity to extend their imagination, ask questions and are challenged to create new ideas, solve problems and to be reflective.

We encourage children to discuss ideas confidently and respond appropriately, creating an atmosphere where children are able to make connections between different areas of their learning and are happy to learn from their mistakes and take risks to learn new skills.

Natioanl Curriculum
In accordance with Government legislation children in Key Stage 1 and 2 follow the National Curriculum which includes the following:

Reception children follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.

Throughout the year we enrich the children’s learning with visitors and visits to a range of places of interest. These are arranged as an integral part of the curriculum and give the children first hand experiences, which we believe to be an important part of the learning process.

We are fortunate to have a heated swimming pool which we use during the summer term. This allows the children to swim daily as part of their PE provision.
