Behaviour at Stoborough

Behaviour at Stoborough:

"Let all that you do be done in love" 1 Corinthians 16:14

We are fully committed to enabling children to flourish, and this is seen in our school vision 'We are one family: Love for ourselves, for each other and for the world' and core school values of confidence, compassion and curiosity.

Stoborough School has adopted a Therapeutic Thinking approach to behaviour. Therapeutic Thinking is a philosophy. It focuses on how all children and young people are to be supported, particularly in terms of their emotional wellbeing and mental health.

We expect all children to behave well, respecting themselves, their peers and the school. Relationships are key and underpin our school vision where the emphasis is on our school family working together to ensure children are successful learners. It is crucial that all children feel secure and happy in school in order for them to grow in confidence and achieve their full potential. We have therefore made a conscious decision to rename our Behaviour policy to Relationships, Behaviour and Anti-bullying Policy to ensure the emphasis is made primarily to the cause (relationships) and that behaviour is usually an effect of this.

Our behaviour curriculum has been designed to explicitly teach children pro-social behaviours. Each-term, we choose a new behaviour focus to explore as a whole school.

So far this year, we have focused on teaching our pupils our expectations in the following areas:
