Underpinning our curriculum is our school vision: Believe- Aspire-Transform. The aim of our curriculum is for all pupils to flourish: to have high aspirations, be confident individuals and to make a positive contribution to the school community and beyond.
We have developed a broad and balanced curriculum that incorporates the statutory requirements of the National Curriculum 2014 and meets the needs of our children in our local context, where knowledge and skills are taught in engaging and meaningful ways. We are dedicated to addressing social disadvantage by providing all children with knowledge and experiences that build on their starting points.
- Leaning is a change to long-term memory
- Our aims are to ensure that our children experience a wide breadth of study and have, by the end of each stage, long term memory of an ambitious body of knowledge.
Our curriculum drivers shape our curriculum breadth. They are derived from an exploration of the background of our pupils, our beliefs about high quality education and our Christian values 'thoughtful, honest, fair and kind.' They are used to ensure we give our pupils appropriate and ambitious curriculum opportunities.
Cultural Capital gives our students the vital background knowledge 'powerful knowledge' required to be informed and thoughtful members of our community and engenders an appreciation of human creativity and achievement.
